No Justice, No Peace

I'm excited to see "Of Flesh and Feathers" emerge into the world - a world in need of witness, support, and recognizing the immense works of BIPOC persons. In that spirit, let me share with you a little about the Black Food Sovereignty Coalition. Their vision is:

"The Black Food Sovereignty Coalition (BFSC) serves as a collaboration hub for Black and Brown communities to confront the systemic barriers that make food, place and economic opportunities inaccessible to us. BFSC is focused on meeting these barriers with creative, innovative, and sustainable solutions. Built on a decade of work of founding members of the Black Food Sovereignty Council and other Black-

identified leaders and stakeholders in the Pacific Northwest, the BFSC mission is to ignite Black and brown communities to participate as owners and movement leaders within food systems, placemaking, and economic development."

They've hosted two 'Back to the Root' conferences so far, focused on creating a space for "Black-identified growers -- farmers, producers, educators, advocates, and ranchers -- to gather, network, discuss experiences, build strategies, and learn about our history and our opportunities." They also have an amazing scholarship program.

"Of Flesh and Feathers" talks about animal husbandry, food modification, and the spirit and evolutionary force that lives within all of us who occupy this world. If you have waited to pre-order and this movement resonates with you, consider ordering a copy of the book.

OR please donate directly to BFSC

(For those who have asked, the paperback version is not available for pre-order YET but I'll make an announcement when it is! :))

Stay warm, stay well, and stay connected. Black Lives Matter.
