2020 is the year that keeps on giving. Societal, environmental, and political calamities abound, and nothing is quite immune from the far reaching effects. So it is true for publishing! Of Flesh and
Feathers hit a set back in set up, production, and shipping of the paperback version as a result of Covid-19 and I received many requests about when it would be available. I'm delighted to report it has now been made available online through Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other major retailers!
It's been so gratifying to see the photos trickling in of readers having received their copies - a big sigh of relief from this author! Producing a book is a stressful venture and so much love and hard work goes into such a production. Not even Covid-19 can bar the emergence of creation and it is more important than ever that we lean into the magic of our creative selves.
Along with copies entering the world, the reviews are beginning to appear too!
"Of Flesh and Feathers was a great read. Pierce does a good job of capturing the hierarchy and community of chickens. Using their perspective, I like how she delivered messages about the human condition. The post-apocalyptic world is chilling and believable. It is a tale for our time with a sliver of hope. I'm looking forward to reading the next one in the series."
"When I saw the title and cover, I chuckled and thought it was a book I had to read. I was not prepared for the apocalyptic setting and horrors that our heroine would face. Our fierce little hen faces the odds head-on, all the while caring for those around her. Fans of Watership Down will find comfort in the familiarity of this book. "
A huge thank you to all readers who take the time to review books they love! For more reviews or to share your own experience, Goodreads is a great place to start. To support (and defeat muthafuckers algorithms, posting your reviews on Amazon is also greatly appreciated.
Hope you are all well and having some (safe) adventures of your own!
